Civilizing Culture

“The mother art is architecture. Without an architecture of our own we have no soul of our own civilization.”

I am inspired by this quote everyday. It speaks to the heart of RuffWorks Studio’s motivation to work with non-profit culturally engaged grassroots organizations such as Guardians Institute and All Souls Episcopal Church. It speaks to the reason to be based in a place like New Orleans. Without the informed and engaged cultivation of our own lands, our own programs, our own space we are forever subjugated to others agendas and schedules.
